(children collecting their Christingles on Christmas Eve)
Children and Young People are very welcome at all our services.
We are committed to including babies, children and young people in all aspects of our life together, enabling them to live and grow in faith. Children are admiited to receiving the Sacrament of Holy Communion at about the age of 8 and prepared for Confirmation from the age of 10 upwards.
For Very young children there are 'Happy Bags' for parents to use with their children. There are creche facilities in the tower which has a sound system so parents do not miss the service!
Between the ages of 3+ and 11+ there is the very popular Sunday Club. This meets in Church at 9.45am, the children stay for the first hymn and then go into Church House for their own activities joining the congregation part way through the service. We look forward to hearing what they have done and to see their art work.
The Ark is for babies, pre school children and their parents and carers. It meets in church on Wednesdays at 9.30am for a story, a prayer and a song or two and is followed by activities and play with time with a cup of tea and plenty of chat. The regular celebration of birthdays is a highlight!
A Discussion Group meets from time to time for supper and discusses a wide range of topics - from euthanasia to birth control and personal issues such as what to do with our life after school, college etc.
