Rector's letter about the Coronavirus
Dear parishioners of Nutfield and Bletchingley, we have received our instructions from the Archbishops. For reasons of safety, there are to be no public services or meetings in church until further notice. Morning and Evening Prayer will be offered daily and the Eucharist every Sunday by myself for the parish as well as Matins at Nutfield. The Sunday Services will be recorded and posted on Facebook and the websites. The church will continue to be open daily for people to visit for their own prayers. If you want pastoral support do please get in touch with me via the church Facebook page or the office. We will continue to produce a weekly news sheet which we will send via email or pop in your letter box if there is no email. If you become ill, please let us know. If you have to self-isolate, please let us know. If you need anything at all, do not hesitate to ask.
The Archbishops have invited everyone this coming Sunday, Mothering Sunday, to join in prayer at home for the country, for the world, for everyone anxious or sick at this time. We are asked to place a lit candle in a window at 7pm on that day. I hope all of you will want to join in this.
Chins up, we've had plague, Spanish Flu, HIV, war and now Coronavirus. We can do this Nutfield and Bletchingley, remember God is with us, He will not let us down.
'do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.'
The light of Christ shines on!
Peace, hope, love and blessings be with you all...Rev. Phe
